Gossip Girl Season 4 Sneak Peek: Serena and Blair in Paris!

“Just because you’re poorly dressed doesn’t mean you’re not Chuck Bass.” – Blair

Because the CW is so awesome, and thinks TV Fanatic is pretty cool too, the network sent us the first two episodes of the upcoming Season Four of Gossip Girl for review!

We can’t give away major plot details, or we’ll be blackballed by the CW faster than you can say “Belles Du Jour,” but let’s just say they live up to the hype and then some.

The premiere and the second episode, “Double Identity,” are both solid on their own merits and set the stage for would could be some awesome story lines this season.

We’ve put together some exclusive Gossip Girl spoilers and observations below to pique your interest and hopefully get you even more excited for September 13 premiere.

Follow the jump for details on the first two episodes of the new season …

• There are new characters named Milo, Louis and Henry.
• Leighton Meester speaks excellent French! Blake Lively? Not so much. Fortunately, there are enough OMG Serena fashion moments to make up for it.
• Something about seeing Gossip Girl filmed on location in Paris legitimizes it on a whole new level. It’s kind of like the Hamptons episodes, but tenfold.
• The Parisian scenery is fantastic and the locations spot-on. It’s eye candy for fans of French culture, fashion and retail. Blair is in her element … although in the premiere, “Belles Du Jour,” we learn that Serena had the more exciting summer.
• Blair and Serena go on a double-date with a member of Monaco’s royal family and his chauffeur. Blair is surprised to learn which is which.
• An important decision Serena made about her future – but failed to mention to Blair – is what ends up getting her shoved into a fountain.
• In NYC, Dan is in full Mr. Mom mode, LIVING WITH GEORGINA! But is the baby really his? A suspicious paternity test suggests one thing, while a blood test and Rufus’ intuition say another. Georgina is as funny and shady as usual.
• Penn Badgley is great as sleep-deprived, delirious Dan in both episodes.
• Someone sleeps with Vanessa in the second episode, “Double Identity.”
• We think that Gossip Girl fans, especially those who watched Melrose Place, are going to love Katie Cassidy as Juliet Sharp. She’s sarcastic, flirty, plotting an elaborate scheme, of course, gorgeous. In other words, a perfect Gossip Girl fit.
• Juliet, who Nate first meets while on a date with another girl, and later runs into again when she’s working with Eleanor planning Fashion’s Night Out, works to help him get Serena back. She clearly has ulterior motives, though …
• Eva (Clemence Poesy) rescued Chuck after he was shot in Prague and nursed him back to health. He’s now taken on an entirely new persona. But is he suffering from amnesia or just trying to forget the man he was – and is ashamed of?
• After a chance run-in in Paris, and with Lily and Serena frantically worrying about Chuck’s fate, Blair tries to convince him not to run from who he is …

Exclusive Gossip Girl Spoilers: The Paris Episodes!

It looks like the embattled Jenny Humphrey’s return to Gossip Girl this fall involves (shocker) a fashion event and (another shocker!) a brawl with Blair Waldorf!

Jenny reappearance is directly connected to Tim Gunn’s cameo, EW reports, as Blair permits her nemesis to return to the scene of her last crime (Manhattan).

Of course, the return is short-lived.

THE SHOWDOWN: In one of the Gossip Girl set photos we posted earlier, Jenny appears to square off with Blair as Chuck looks on. Could be the scene we’re describing here.

Lil J will be in the Big Apple just long enough for her to interview for a job with Gunn at Parsons. But what might have been a triumphant return will go awry.

Let’s just say the Raccoon inadvertently gets caught up in Chuck and Blair’s latest drama, and the pent-up tension boils over at (what else) a big fancy party.

It looks like Jenny Humphrey’s fall return has officially been confirmed, though she won’t be back for good until 2011. It doesn’t appear that Blair is too happy to see her.

Gossip Girl Set Photos Galore: Jenny’s Return, Serena’s New Man and a Major Fashion Event!

Here’s a Gossip Girl spoiler that fans are likely to go absolutely bonkers over (just a hunch). Let’s just cut right to the chase here: There will be sex. It will involve Chair.

According to E! Online, relations, “of the bom-chicka-bow-wow kind,” will take place between Chuck and Blair in the upcoming fourth season, which begins September 13.

Gulp. Excited yet?!

It’s only a matter of time until the feelings come out … and the clothes come off!

As for whether they will actually get back together, well … that we cannot say. Partly because we aren’t sure, and partly because the CW would kill us if we did say.

As for the return of the Upper East Siders in general, Penn Badgley sums it up best.

“There’s a baby on the way, which I think everybody already knows anyway. We’re in Paris for a bit. There’s a gunshot wound and there’s another marriage,” he says. “I think. It’s hard to keep track of the weddings, because they’re all broken up anyway!”

So, business as usual then in New York City? Indeed. “It’s the same kind of sensational stuff you’ve come to expect, and the change of locale makes it even more gorgeous. More of the typical stuff but in an even more heightened capacity,” Penn promises.

SEASON FOUR KICKS OFF IN THE CITY OF LIGHTS! OMP!

The fourth season of Gossip Girl kicks off two weeks from tonight. Two weeks! We’re counting down the days. The CW has released the official synopsis for the premiere, outlining some potential plot lines to come in “Belles Du Jour.”

With all the Gossip Girl previews and spoilers floating around this off-season, we’ve heard next to nothing about Rufus and Lily. What’s the latest on this Upper East Side couple?

According to EW, “a rat Bass-tard is going to come between them.” We’re not talking about coming between them in romantic sense, nor are we talking about that sketchy Jack.

While Lily is more than willing to forgive Chuck for what happened with Jenny, Rufus finds it more difficult to move past it … and that’s before another bombshell gets dropped.

Just when he finally starts to come around, Eric lets him in on a little secret regarding Jenny and Chuck – and let’s just say it pertains to an ugly incident from the pilot episode.

It’s going to be bad.

As for Rufus’ other offspring, the resurfacing of Dan’s feelings for Serena in last season’s finale threw many fans for a loop. Where does this leave his relationship with Vanessa?

Just fine, apparently. They move in together in the third episode this season!

Jessica Szohr hinted at the complicated nature of their relationship in our exclusive interview with her recently, but moving in together? That’s not a wrinkle we saw coming.

Latest Gossip Girl Promo: Paris OMD!

The executive producer of Gossip Girl, Stephanie Savage, reveals that Blair will have a new rival this season … and it may be someone she’s familiar with.

Speaking to TV Guide, Savage explained that Blair will try to establish herself when she transfers to Columbia University, but that obstacles may await her.

“She makes a bid for Queen Bee and encounters a minion from the past,” Savage explained. “As we know, Blair’s quests for power are never simple.”

“She encounters a new rival – someone who really is a force to be reckoned with.” Hmm… gotta be Penelope (Amanda Setton), right? She’s been seen on set …
