• Jay-Z threw wifey Beyonce an intimate 29th birthday party Saturday night. But apparently his definition of intimate is different from ours, because this party involved filling about-to-open New York hotspot The Darby with orchids and included fellow A-list guests like Alicia Keys, Kayne West and Diddy. California gurl Katy Perry may soon be a blushing bride in blue (hair), but not everyone in her family is well acquainted with the 25-year old’s fiance, Russell Brand. Katy’s grandma, Ann Hudson, whose ill health will prevent her from attending her granddaughter’s wedding told Life & Style magazine in an exclusive interview, “I got to meet him for only a few minutes, but he seemed very nice and polite. I liked him very much.”
Nice and polite? We guess Nana Perry really only did meet Russell in passing, as she doesn’t seem all that worried that her little granddaughter may be marrying some Willy Wonka sex addict. All we have to say is: Katy, go visit your grandmother more!

With just two days to go until the season two premiere of The Vampire Diaries, fans are anxious to every nugget of information they can find about what’s on tap.
Enter Kevin Williamson. The producer spoke to Collider this week and while he shied away from any major spoilers, he revealed just enough about Katherine and Tyler and flashbacks to get us even more excited than before for Thursday night…
What can you tell us about season two?
Katherine being back in Mystic Falls is a bit of a game changer for the show. It’s about, “How is that going to affect Damon and Stefan, in terms of Katherine now being back in town?” It’s so hard to talk about it without giving anything away because it seems like everything is a surprise and everything is a twist. But, Katherine comes back and pretty much states why she’s back. It will be fun to watch that play out. If you’ve watched our show in the past, you know that there’s always more than one reason why someone is there. It’s a huge journey.
Visit our Vampire Diaries forum and dish on upcoming developments now!
Has Katherine changed?
She’s meaner. Actually, it’s going to be interesting to watch. She’s different, in the sense that she doesn’t have to wear corsets anymore. I’m scared to say because it will tease where she’s been. What she’s been up to is a bit of a secret.
Will there be more flashback episodes?
Right now, we have one. We have three flashback episodes planned, and I’m guessing there will be a fourth.
Tell us about the Lockwood Curse.
Tyler is going to learn, through help from his Uncle Mason, who comes to town in the very first episode, who and what he is. He’s going to learn about the curse, who he is and how he responds to it.
Fans should have had the date circled on their calendar for weeks, but just a reminder: The Vampire Diaries returns with new episodes THIS THURSDAY!!!
In anticipation, The CW has released a new preview hyping the second season premiere. It doesn’t reveal any footage that previous promos didn’t also include, but, hey, any excuse to see Damon and Stefan again, right?
Remember: TV Fanatic the source for all things Vampire Diaries. To prepare for season two, you should…
The countdown is on for Thursday night. We hope to see you back here right after the episode ends. Needless to say, there will be a lot to talk about!

Will Grace let loose on tonight’s summer finale of The Secret Life of the American Teenager? Are Jack and Grace over for good?
We asked these questions and more to Grace herself (Megan Park) in an exclusive interview, excerpts from which are posted below…
Will Grace finally let loose on the finale?
You’ll definitely get a big hint as to what’s going to come next season. I would say the next season, when we start back in January, is when Grace really starts to let loose a lot more and some pretty dramatic things happen in her life, that’s for sure.

Are Jack and Grace completely over?
No. I don’t think it’s the end for them. I think there’s just such a history, and that’s what explored in what we’re filming now, and it’ll come out next year. There’s always going to be something there with them, and I feel like no matter who they’re with, they’re always comparing them to what they had, and nothing for them has compared so far. Their paths begin to cross again very soon.
Are you Team Ricky/Amy?
I have mixed emotions on that. I think that it would be interesting to see them give it a try. They’ve never really done the full-on family thing with John and given it a try. I think Amy is going to find somebody else that’s probably better suited, they’re the ones everyone has been dying to see get together. I think it’s going to be difficult for Amy to make it work, though. It’s work itself out. Even if they did get together, it would take a lot of work to make it a happy situation.
Ricky has been a great father, though.
That’s been the one thing that’s pretty continuous since the baby was born. He’s been really dedicated. He hasn’t really done anything to mess that up so far and Amy went to New York, it was hard for him but he took over. He only continues to become a better father, which I really like about the character. Amy is really lucky to have that, for sure.
Tell me about your Lifetime movie, The Perfect Teacher (airing September 12).
It’s super intense. It’s this story about this girl named Devon, who I play, and she’s your average teenage girl, but she’s really troubled. She comes from a really interesting family background. Her mom passed when she was young and it’s just her and her dad. She becomes madly obsessed with her teacher, who’s played by David Charvay, and it’s not your normal teenage schoolgirl crush, she takes it one step further and ends up really throwing him for a loop and ending up in every aspect of his life. Getting involved with his child and his ex-wife and all of these things, and she really causes a lot of damage, to herself and to his life. She doesn’t know when to stop.
Anything else in the works?
I just finished filming a movie in Utah. It’s called Guns, Girls & Gambling, and it’s a feature that will come out next year. It’s also starring Gary Oldman, Christina Slater, Dane Cook, and Sam Trammell (True Blood). It’s the funniest script, so well written. It has twists and turns and keeps you on your toes. Having Gary Oldman and Dane Cook in the same scene is just so funny. It was the most amazing experience to work with all of those actors, and I learned so much. We just finished it, so it should be out sometime next year.
