Spotted, a blog with nothing to lose!
With just two days to go until the season two premiere of The Vampire Diaries, fans are anxious to every nugget of information they can find about what’s on tap.
Enter Kevin Williamson. The producer spoke to Collider this week and while he shied away from any major spoilers, he revealed just enough about Katherine and Tyler and flashbacks to get us even more excited than before for Thursday night…
What can you tell us about season two?
Katherine being back in Mystic Falls is a bit of a game changer for the show. It’s about, “How is that going to affect Damon and Stefan, in terms of Katherine now being back in town?” It’s so hard to talk about it without giving anything away because it seems like everything is a surprise and everything is a twist. But, Katherine comes back and pretty much states why she’s back. It will be fun to watch that play out. If you’ve watched our show in the past, you know that there’s always more than one reason why someone is there. It’s a huge journey.
Visit our Vampire Diaries forum and dish on upcoming developments now!
Has Katherine changed?
She’s meaner. Actually, it’s going to be interesting to watch. She’s different, in the sense that she doesn’t have to wear corsets anymore. I’m scared to say because it will tease where she’s been. What she’s been up to is a bit of a secret.
Will there be more flashback episodes?
Right now, we have one. We have three flashback episodes planned, and I’m guessing there will be a fourth.
Tell us about the Lockwood Curse.
Tyler is going to learn, through help from his Uncle Mason, who comes to town in the very first episode, who and what he is. He’s going to learn about the curse, who he is and how he responds to it.
Fans should have had the date circled on their calendar for weeks, but just a reminder: The Vampire Diaries returns with new episodes THIS THURSDAY!!!
In anticipation, The CW has released a new preview hyping the second season premiere. It doesn’t reveal any footage that previous promos didn’t also include, but, hey, any excuse to see Damon and Stefan again, right?
Remember: TV Fanatic the source for all things Vampire Diaries. To prepare for season two, you should…
The countdown is on for Thursday night. We hope to see you back here right after the episode ends. Needless to say, there will be a lot to talk about!

Taylor Momsen will be absent from Gossip Girl this fall – she’ll be back for one episode, then for good at mid-season – but the 17-year-old is still in the spotlight.
The actress-turned-rocker and her band, The Pretty Reckless, are really gaining popularity. Last night, they performed on The Late Show with David Letterman.
The hit they performed, “Make Me Wanna Die,” is also featured in previews for The Vampire Diaries. By her standards, Taylor was dressed fairly conservatively!
Check it out below and see what you think …

David Anders does not know if his character on The Vampire Diaries is related to Katherine or not.
But the actor can confirm that he’ll return for season two of The CW hit, which kicks off on September 9 and which you can watch a preview for HERE.
In an exclusive interview with TV Fanatic, the veteran TV star dishes on Uncle John and what the second season has in store for other residents of Mystic Falls…
What can we look forward to this season?
There’s the big werewolf storyline cooking up. As far as I’m concerned, Elena walks in after Katherine slices my fingers off and stabs me and she’s got a big decision to make. There’s a lot of Katherine and Elena. Nina’s got a lot of work.
Why did John kill Anna?
The fact that she’s a vampire. He saw that she might have dragged my nephew into vampiredom. I don’t think John approved of that. John is Jeremy’s only male figure in his life, so he treats it like a father/son relationship. It was a hard decision for the producers to make, to let her character go.
Will Uncle John and Elena find a way to get along?
It’s extremely difficult for Elena to see any good in me. I’m not well liked around Mystic Falls [laughs].
Were you approached for the role of John?
Yeah. They came to me. I knew Ian Somerhalder. He’s a friend of mine, and I thought it would be fun to go out there and play vampire for a little bit. It proved to be just that. I was impressed with the level of acting on the show, and the writing and the dark, totally grounded in reality.
If you were in John’s position, would you have made the same decisions he did?
No, probably not. I would look out for my daughter’s best interest. John is so rooted with his thinking that vampires are the bane of anybody’s existence. That’s what he’s been taught, and grew to believe. He’s been conditioned and conditioned.

David Anders Talks to TV Fanatic About Vampire Diaries Return, Character
In an exclusive interview with TV Fanatic, Michael Trevino said his character of Tyler would be more involved than ever before on season two of The Vampire Diaries.
The entire family of the Lockwoods, in fact, will be on full display as Uncle Mason debuts on the September 9 premiere, showing up for his brother’s funeral. Said Taylor Kinney, who will play this key role, to TV Guide Magazine:
“Mason has learned to harness his rage and is going to serve as a mentor to Tyler. I’ve come to teach Tyler that there are choices he can make to control his destiny as a human…or otherwise.”
Loyal viewers don’t need to be told what the actor means by “otherwise,” do they?
Kinney adds that his character doesn’t exactly get along with Damon. But this is nothing new between the families.
“We don’t get along,” he says. “Historically, the Salvatores haven’t gotten along with the Lockwoods for ages, and having a new Lockwood in town doesn’t sit well.”
Fans will have to wait until next month to learn more. In the meantime, they can visit our Vampire Diaries spoilers section for more season two scoop!
