“Just because you’re poorly dressed doesn’t mean you’re not Chuck Bass.” – Blair

Because the CW is so awesome, and thinks TV Fanatic is pretty cool too, the network sent us the first two episodes of the upcoming Season Four of Gossip Girl for review!

We can’t give away major plot details, or we’ll be blackballed by the CW faster than you can say “Belles Du Jour,” but let’s just say they live up to the hype and then some.

S in Paris

The premiere and the second episode, “Double Identity,” are both solid on their own merits and set the stage for would could be some awesome story lines this season.

We’ve put together some exclusive Gossip Girl spoilers and observations below to pique your interest and hopefully get you even more excited for September 13 premiere.

Follow the jump for details on the first two episodes of the new season …

  • There are new characters named Milo, Louis and Henry.
  • Leighton Meester speaks excellent French! Blake Lively? Not so much. Fortunately, there are enough OMG Serena fashion moments to make up for it.
  • Something about seeing Gossip Girl filmed on location in Paris legitimizes it on a whole new level. It’s kind of like the Hamptons episodes, but tenfold.
  • The Parisian scenery is fantastic and the locations spot-on. It’s eye candy for fans of French culture, fashion and retail. Blair is in her element … although in the premiere, “Belles Du Jour,” we learn that Serena had the more exciting summer.
  • Blair and Serena go on a double-date with a member of Monaco’s royal family and his chauffeur. Blair is surprised to learn which is which.
  • An important decision Serena made about her future – but failed to mention to Blair – is what ends up getting her shoved into a fountain.
  • In NYC, Dan is in full Mr. Mom mode, LIVING WITH GEORGINA! But is the baby really his? A suspicious paternity test suggests one thing, while a blood test and Rufus’ intuition say another. Georgina is as funny and shady as usual.
  • Penn Badgley is great as sleep-deprived, delirious Dan in both episodes.
  • Someone sleeps with Vanessa in the second episode, “Double Identity.”
  • We think that Gossip Girl fans, especially those who watched Melrose Place, are going to love Katie Cassidy as Juliet Sharp. She’s sarcastic, flirty, plotting an elaborate scheme, of course, gorgeous. In other words, a perfect Gossip Girl fit.
  • Juliet, who Nate first meets while on a date with another girl, and later runs into again when she’s working with Eleanor planning Fashion’s Night Out, works to help him get Serena back. She clearly has ulterior motives, though …
  • Eva (Clemence Poesy) rescued Chuck after he was shot in Prague and nursed him back to health. He’s now taken on an entirely new persona. But is he suffering from amnesia or just trying to forget the man he was – and is ashamed of?
  • After a chance run-in in Paris, and with Lily and Serena frantically worrying about Chuck’s fate, Blair tries to convince him not to run from who he is …

Blair and Chuck in Paris

What happens here? We’ll leave that to the imagination for now. Leave us a comment with your theories and let us know what you think – and are most excited for next week.

Bisous Bisous,

Heather Hemmens stars on the new CW series Hellcats.

It premieres on September 8, you can check out photos from the pilot episode HERE and you can read what Hemmens told TV Fanatic about the show in the exclusive interview below…

Tell us about Hellcats.
It’s a story about cheerleaders, but it’s more a story about characters’ inside lives. It starts with Marti [Aly Michalka]. She’s trying to keep her scholarship at school, so she joins the cheerleading squad and therefore takes my characters spot on the team and her spot in life. She starts catching the eye of my characters ex-boyfriend. There’s a big competitive streak with Alice and Marti that kicks the story off.

Vanessa and Alice

Talk about your character.
Alice is the mean girl. She gets sidelined with an injury and she is the most competitive, fierce, and ballsy character. When things aren’t going her way, she goes on a power trip to get thing righted for her. She was on top of the world and her injury was the toppling of the block.

What kind of audience would love this show?
Absolutely, cheerleaders. I would say anyone who’s curious about cheerleading. There’s a character there that everyone can relate to. Our character are such individuals, and so strong and different from one another. We’ve got Savannah, who’s the innocent one of the crowd. Marti is the tough chick, but she’s into the bitchy cheerleaders, and you’ve got the guys and Alice, who plays a mean girl, but she comes from a place of trying to protect herself. There’s something in there for everyone. It’s a show for chicks, but there’s the football aspect of it. The guys storylines are great, too. We deal with college relationships and co-ed dorm living. This is show that guys are going to love to watch. It might not be about dude stuff, but c’mon, we’re dancing around in skirts and we’ve worked really hard to be in shape.

Was there a lot of training in preparation for this role?
We train very hard. I considered myself a person who is healthy and fit, but I’ve definitely had to take it to the next level to play the role of a cheerleader. They take their athleticism very, very seriously. So to play that role convincingly, you want to be in the best shape of your life just to be capable of what they can do. You have to be on top of your game. My background in martial arts helped a bit.

Do you do your own stunts?
We do a lot of our own stunts. We push the envelope as far as we’re comfortable with. Of course they have someone who does the really dangerous stuff so we can keep our necks unbroken.

What has it been like working with the cast?
They’re so great. It sounds clich

On October 12, Haley and Mia from One Tree Hill will head over to Life Unexpected in a special crossover episode.

They’ll show up in Portland for a radio show concert hosted by Ryan, during which Haley and Cate bond over their similar pasts. Now, The CW has confirmed an appropriate guest star for the installment:

Sarah McLachlan will cameo as herself, performing the single “Forgiveness” at the event.

Sarah McLachlan

One Tree Hill and Life Unexpected both premiere new seasons on Tuesday, September 14. TV Fanatic will cover each show in depth.

Mekia Cox has landed a recurring role on new NBC drama Undercovers.

Therefore, we didn’t see this news coming: Zapt2It reports that the actress will reprise her role as Sasha – the older love interest of Dixon’s who faked a pregnancy last year and was called out on it by Debbie – on season two of 90210.

Dixon and Sasha

A CW spokesperson confirms the report and says Sasha will return on October 4 with “shocking news to Dixon.”

What might that be? Leave a comment below and/or head over to our 90210 forum and let the guessing begin!

Celeb Roundup: Happy 9/02/10 Day

Sep 2, 2010 Author: biazicauncoma | Filed under: 24, 90210, Gossip Girl, V, cw, e

We got really into this 9/02/10 day business, and it looks like some of the show’s stars did as well. Original casters Tori Spelling (@torianddean) and Jennie Garth (@jenniegarth), as well as Jennie’s husband Peter Facinelli (@peterfacinelli) Tweeted about the historic day. (Historic in pop culture land and least!) And what about notorious diva Shannen Doherty (@DohertyShannen)? Well, let’s just say Brenda Walsh is still off in her own world.

Tori got nostalgic and referenced her character Donna Martin:

Jennie Garth got into the spirit of things by giving a shout out to the cast of the new CW Bev Hills update:

Twilight vamp pop Peter Facinelli, tipped his cap to his lady:

And then there’s Shannen, the 90210-er who notoriously left the show after four seasons? She hasn’t Tweeted in nearly a month — and this is what she had to say last:

Hmmm – and with that, 9/02/10 day is complete.

Ashley Tisdale is heading up a new “comedy-drama” on the CW this fall called Hellcats, which is like Bring It On, but for college? You know what, at this point the CW cannot fail (except for the new 90210, RIP OP 90210) and the exclusive cast interviews (plus trailer!) makes us think that right now, our TiVo is sitting at home, programming itself to start recording this show.

On The CW’s Nikita, Shane West and Maggie Q square off.

The actors play characters on the opposite side of justice, as West’s Michael formerly employed Q’s Nikita. When we meet them in the series premiere, however, the relationship has fizzled. To say the least.

In separate interviews below, two of the show’s main stars speak in depth on the character they portray. Who is Michael? What motives Nikita? Find out now.
